Take Home Folders - Homework, mail, notices, and corrected work will be in your child's folder. Please send in any notes with your child in the morning. Students hand notes to me each morning.

| Names Please - |
All students need to have their names clearly marked on backpacks, lunch boxes, clothing, esp. winter items such as snow pants, boots and mittens. |

| Snacks - |
We have a short snack every morning. Please send healthy snacks. Students may also bring in a water bottle to keep in the classroom. |

| Homework - |
The homework is to reinforce what we are learning in class and to keep you up to date regarding our curriculum focus areas. Homework in Kindergarten includes reading, practicing math facts to five, and practicing the kindergarten sight words. |

| Art Smocks - |
Please send in a smock for art. An old adult tee shirt is fine. Please make sure that your child's name is written on the art smock. |

| Birthdays - |
Birthdays are important to the children at Birch Grove School. Students are not allowed to bring cupcakes and other food to school on their birthdays. However, I would like to recognize your child's special day. Students may bring in goody bags, a puzzle, or a book to share with the class. These are just suggestions. I will acknowledge your child's birthday with a certificate and a sticker. Also, your child's name will be announced on the morning announcements and they will get a special birthday pencil.

Please send any dismissal changes in writing. This will allow me ample time to notify the office of the change. |
